Branding and Strategy

For Pride Month, Volkswagen collaborated with the Women’s US Soccer and tasked our team with a refreshed VW pride logo. Being a BIPOC designer, I took it upon myself to make sure the logo was inclusive and fit into the narrative of the LGBTQIA+ community. We moved away from the “rainbow washing” that most brands do every year, tapping into the various elements of the existing logo. The BIPOC and Trans communities have had a significant impact on LGBTQIA+ rights and this logo honors them. I personally drafted and wrote an email to the legal VW team to explain the significance of the colors that were being added to the existing Pride flag.
